JEE Main 2027 is a national-level engineering entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the gateway to undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes at:

JEE Main 2027 Eligibility Criteria — Check Before Applying

Before starting the registration process, confirm you meet all eligibility criteria. Applications submitted by ineligible candidates will be rejected.

Academic Qualification

Must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board
Compulsory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
Optional subject: Biology, Biotechnology, or a Technical Vocational subject is also accepted alongside PCM

Step-by-Step JEE Main 2027 Registration Process

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

On the Jeemain.nta.nic.in homepage, search for the JEE Main 2027 Registration link. On the homepage of jeemain.nta.nic.in, look for the JEE Main 2027 Registration link.

Step 2: New Registration

Click on “New Registration” and follow all the instructions carefully. Please do not miss out on the instruction page, as there are essential instructions on that page specific to this session.

Step 3: Create Your Account

Fill in your Name, E-mail ID, Mobile No and Date of Birth. You will receive an Application Number and Password generated by the system at your registered e-mail and mobile number. You will need these credentials in the future for logins.

Step 4: Fill the Application Form

Use your Application Number and password to log in. Fill in:

Personal information: name, place of birth, gender, nationality, and eligibility state
Parent/guardian details
Address for correspondence: Postal address
Academic information: Class 10th and Class 12th information, subject, board name, roll number.
Aadhaar details (for auto-fill of name, date of birth, and address)
APAAR ID (if applicable in 2027)

Step 5: Take Live Photograph

A photo of you will be taken live with your device camera during the registration process. Provide adequate lighting, background and no facial accessories.

Step 6: Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of:

Passport-size photograph
Signature
Class 10 and 12 certificates
Category certificate (if applicable)

Follow the exact file size and format specifications provided on the portal.

Step 7: Choose Exam Paper and Centres

Select:

Paper type: Paper 1 (B.Tech), Paper 2A (B.Arch), Paper 2B (B.Planning), or combination
Exam medium: English, Hindi, or regional language
Preferred exam city centres: up to 4 choices in order of preference

Step 8: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the applicable fee through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Download and save the payment confirmation.

Step 9: Submit and Download Confirmation

If the payment was successful, click the form and download the confirmation page. Make sure to print out and store it securely until the admission and counselling process are finished.

New Features in JEE Main 2027 Registration

Based on changes introduced in JEE Main 2026 and expected to continue in 2027:

Aadhaar-Based Auto-Fill: The registration form will automatically fetch your name, date of birth, photograph, and address from your Aadhaar database. This reduces manual entry errors significantly.

Live Photograph Capture: Instead of uploading a pre-clicked photo, candidates will be required to take a live photograph during the online registration process using their device camera.

APAAR ID: Candidates may be asked to provide their APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) as part of the 2027 registration verification process. Register for your APAAR ID at academic.nta.ac.in if you have not already done so.

Common Mistakes to Avoid During JEE Main Registration

Name mismatch: Enter your name as it is written on your Class 10 certificate. Verification problems arise if there is any mismatch in Aadhaar or Class 12 records.
Wrong date of birth: Double-check your date of birth before submitting. The errors that you make on this are more difficult to rectify once you submit it.
Incorrect category selection – This impacts the fee calculation and benefits from a reservation. Have valid and current Category Certificates to choose SC/ST/OBC/EWS.
Substandard Photograph: Blurry or inappropriate-sized pictures result in application rejection. Follow the instructions of NTA exactly.
Do not download and keep the final confirmation page & payment receipt: Always download and save the last confirmation page & payment receipt. This is to confirm successful registration.
Not accessing the correction window: The correction window closes without prolonging the sessions. Please follow the NTA website on a daily basis during the NTA correction period.
